Beach Bundle is being rolled out for our condos in Fort Walton Beach and, if you stay with us this spring, you’ll have the added benefit of these products. So, what is it exactly? Well, RentGearHere.com provides a range of beach toys, bikes, and baby gear rentals but Beach Bundle is just a small sample of that. With Beach Bundle, you will find two backpack beach chairs and an awesome boogie board waiting for you when you arrive at your Okaloosa Island condo. The chairs have padded headrest, a place to set your cold beverage and straps to carry them down that will leave your hands free to maneuver the family. And the kids are going to love the boogie board! This isn’t your typical beach store find; this is a high end slice of wave-cruising fun. Beach Bundle is also a part of our Windmark Beach homes on the Forgotten Coast. Enjoy the use of four backpack chairs, as well as four bicycles perfect for crusing the coast.
Beach Bundle is included as a part of your Fort Walton Beach and Windmark Beach reservations, although Windmark guest may opt out if they don’t wish. Don’t pack the beach chairs this summer, just book with Southern to have them waiting for you when you arrive!
We’re On The Wheel!
The Wheel of Fortune, that is. On Thursday, November 15, 2012, your favorite Gulf Coast vacation rental company will be the top prize on this time-honored game show.
So, what are the contestants vying for exactly? First off, Southern will provide a weekly stay in a gorgeous three bedroom condo at one of our favorite Fort Walton Beach resorts, the Azure, for two. After the winner and their guest have flown in, courtesy of the Northwest Florida Regional Airport, they will be treated to a dolphin cruise as well as enjoy a day of golf on one of the area’s beautiful courses.
If you love Wheel of Fortune and often enjoy a sweet Southern vacation of your own, tune in and play along! Again, the episode airs November 15, 2012; check your local listings for times.
See The Nutcracker Ballet This November
Let the whimisical tale of Clara and her Nutcracker put you in the holiday spirit during your Thanksgiving vacation to Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Presented by the Northwest Florida Ballet, this is a local treat we’re sure you’ll love.
The Nutcracker is a classic ballet and a sure show to put you in the mood for turkey, holiday lights and, of course, sweet Christmas treats. Watch as Clara takes her journey through the Kingdom of Sweets where dolls come to life. See snowflakes prance, gingerbread come to life and dewdrops dance across the stage. And you surely won’t want to miss the enchanting Sugar Plum Fairy.
These performances take place the weekend of November 17, 2012 at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center, just a quick drive from your Fort Walton Beach condo or Destin vacation rental. Come see our area’s most talented dancers take the stage. Tickets are just $28 for adults and $14 for children.
Race for Lace 5K

Head to Crestview, just a short drive north of your Fort Walton Beach condo, for the Race for Lace. This 5K takes you through beautiful downtown Crestview and proceeds benefit Great Strides and the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis.

Emerald Coast Boat Show

Don’t miss the only boat show happening this fall along the Gulf Coast! Head to the Emerald Coast Convention Center in Fort Walton Beach to enjoy three days of all things boats, including lifts, electronics, and other accessories in addition to, of course, endless boats. Admission is just $5.

If you’re looking for a hands-on attraction that offers a little educations and a lot of fun for your family while on vacation in Fort Walton Beach, visit the Gulfarium!
The Gulfarium Adventure Marine Park originally opened it’s doors in 1955 and has been a staple attraction on Okaloosa Island ever since. In early 2012 this awesome park got even better when they temporarily closed for a renovation and reopened Memorial Day weekend bigger and better than ever.
The Gulfarium recently had us out to enjoy an adventure of our own. Check out this Southern video to see our experience at the park, a preview of the shows, the amazing encounters you can enjoy and much more while on vacation to the Gulf Coast.
