The Forgotten Coast ~ Weather

A summer playground, the Forgotten Coast’s weather is like that of all the beach communities in Northwest Florida – beautiful! It can get hot in the summer and that is how most vacationers like it. With the Gulf of Mexico and St. Joe’s Bay, not to mention great property pools, it is easy to spend more time in the water than out of it. The summer Gulf breezes help, too. Occassionally a quick summer afternoon storm rises up over the Gulf and last just long enough to cool everything off a bit and set the stage for a gorgeous sunset and balmy evening.

Shielded by the Cape, St. Joe’s Bay and the Gulf waters bordering the Forgotten Coast are typically calmer than other areas of the Northwest Florida, creating a fun recreational area. It is always wise to use caution as weather and water conditions on the Coast can change and, regardless of the season, sunscreen is always  needed.

Our fall is still pleasantly warm, as is the water, making it a great time to visit. With the heat abated, more festivals and outdoor events unfold during this time.

We have a beautiful spring with moderate temperatures following a winter that is pretty mild, too. While locals layer up for the season, many of our winter guests find the temperatures refreshing, ranging from low 40s to mid 60s.

Whatever the season, it is always a lovely time to visit Florida’s Forgotten Coast.
