Panama City Beach ~ Weather

It has been estimated that Panama City Beach gets 320 days of sunshine each year. With the moderate year-round temperatures, it is always a good time to visit the beach. Summer, when the kids are out of school, is still the most popular season for vacationers to Panama City Beach. Taking advantage of the warmer temperatures, the beach and pools are filled with visitors. Our Gulf waters run in the low eighties during this time. A few afternoon summer showers cool everything off just a bit and give vacationers another reason to begin shopping.

Spring is our second busiest time as families flock to the beach to thaw after winter and as schools let out for Spring Break. (Southern Vacation Rentals maintains strict age policies all year, but especially during this time to ensure we do not rent to college age guests.)

Like the entire Northwest Florida Gulf Coast, the fall and winter are slower seasons with fewer crowds, but none the less beautiful. While the Gulf water may be too cool to swim in during the winter with average temperature in the sixties, many of Southern’s vacation properties have heated pools for your enjoyment. Whatever the season, Southern encourages all guests to enjoy the great outdoors, keeping in mind that weather can change here on the coast. Please keep aware of the weather and surf conditions and always have sunscreen!
