From November 30th – December 1st, 2009, Port St. Joe’s annual holiday festivities will include all the season’s favorites. 

The Special Holidays Farmers’ Market will begin at 10:00 am on December 5, 2010 and last until the evening festivities.  At 5:00pm CST, the Christmas Tree lighting will take place in the City Commons Park.  Christmas carols and sing alongs will accompany the lighting and be followed by the Lighted Christmas Parade beginning about 5:45 CST.  Photos with Santa Claus and the awarding of prizes will certainly make the night complete.

Southern Resorts’ Panama City Beach vacation rentals and Billabong of Destin, Florida teamed up to raise money in support of St. Jude’s Hospital in the first annual Give Thanks Walk this past weekend. Employees from both companies joined forces with friends to show support for the families affected and the hospital that takes them in, treats and loves them.

Timed just before Thanksgiving, the Give Thanks Walk was very appropriate. Those of us with healthy children should give thanks and walk harder and further in our efforts to help those families that must endure such difficult times. Supporting St. Jude’s is probably one of the easiest ways to help. Opened in 1962, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital is dedicated to children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. They never turn away a patient because of an inability to pay. If you would like to help, donate now.

After your Thanksgiving feast is complete, the football games have ended and the post Turkey naps have been slept, head over to the Silver Sands Factory Stores for Midnight Madness.

Bring in the New Year in Pensacola with the Pelican Drop Celebration.  While New York has the ball drop and Atlanta has the peach drop, Pensacola has staked its claim for the one and only Pelican Drop.
