Jimmy Buffett & Friends Concert On the Big Screen at Uptown Station

So, you want to enjoy Northwest Florida’s Beaches but you also want to take in the Jimmy Buffett and friends concert, we’ve got you covered. Gather up those lawn chairs and blankets as you head over to Uptown Station in Fort Walton Beach.

Uptown Station will be showing the concert “live” on a giant screen. But, that’s not all. There will also be plenty of live entertainment provided by Chris Alvarado, Jones & Company, Reed Waddle, and Classic Brass.

The fun event will be held on Sunday July 11, 2010 at 2pm – 7pm.

Fireworks Over the Gulf in Panama City Beach

It’s a summer of fun and celebration in Panama City Beach. Throughout the summer, there will be grand fireworks displays over the Gulf of Mexico to treat our visitors from out of town.

The event will take place this Saturday, July 9th, near the M.B. Miller Pier located at 12213 Front Beach Road from 9-10 pm. You’ll be able to sit back and relax as you enjoy the fireworks in the sky. Gather your coolers, friends and family as you find your best seat along Panama City Beach for this fun event.

Blue Angels 2010 Pensacola Beach Air Show

Grab your coolers and sunblock as you head to the Blue Angels 2010 air show along Pensacola Beach July 10, 2010.  Aimed at recruiting for the Navy and Marines, the Blue Angels flight demonstration shows choreographed refinements of skills possessed by all naval aviators.

There will also be civilian and military aircraft performing before the Blue Angels begin. This annual event always has a packed schedule of live musical entertainment throughout the 4th of July week.

The team is stationed at Forrest Sherman Field, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida during the season. After performing 69 successful air shows during the 2009 season, the 2010 squad will be looking to make the show more impressive than ever before.

It was an amazing July 4th weekend here along Northwest Florida’s Beaches. The beaches were packed and the weather was great (on Saturday). Even though July 4th has passed, there are still so many activities and events for you to enjoy.

Want to have a good time and listen to live music while relaxing in Panama City Beach?  Grab your beach chairs and blankets then head over to the Pier Park Amphitheater for concerts in the park. 

While you’re there, register to win some terriffic prizes.  Small coolers and pets on leashes are allowed.  The concerts start at 7pm and usually last until 9pm.  The Pier Park Summer Concert Series’ line-up is shown below.

12th Annual Mexico Beach Art & Wine Festival

The 12th Annual Mexico Beach Art & Wine Festival will be held October 16, 2010. The event will feature local seafood, fine wines, live auction, musical entertainment and plenty of amazing artwork. 2nd Annual Blast on the Bay Songwriters’ Festival

Directly from the streets of Nashville, Florida’s Forgotten Coast will again host an extremely talented group of musicians and songwriters for the 2nd Annual Blast on the Bay Songwriters’ Festival.

The Festival will feature performances by approximately 15-20 musicians who have written hit songs for Faith Hill, Darius Rucker, Diamond Rio and Ann Murray. Some of the songwriters attending this year’s festival include crowd favorites Jillia Jackson, Thom Shepherd and Will Rambeaux. There are more than double the performers from last year and this three day event is shaping up to be one of the most fun festivals along Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast.

All of the shows are either FREE or request a minimal donation. Proceeds will benefit the Educational Foundation of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association.

Destin Fishing Rodeo 2010

The Destin Fishing Rodeo was established in 1948 as the ultimate fishing tournament for saltwater anglers of all ages and every year people book their Destin vacation rentalas they plan to compete in this annual event. Open everyday from October 1-31, 2010, the Rodeo is FRE to angler’s fishing aboard a registered boat in the Rodeo. Weigh-ins are every day on the docks at A.J.’s Seafood & Oyster Bar from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Open to both private and charter boats, there is also FREE entry for pier, bridge, jetty and surf fishing. Over 30,000 anglers are expected to compete through the month of October this year for over $100,000 to be awarded in cash and prizes. Daily, weekly and overall prizes  will be awarded throughout the tournament.

There are multiple divisions including Junior, Teen, Ladies and Senior divisions. Almost every gamefish is recognized with awards at the Destin Fishing Rodeo. Whether you’re fishing for Marlin offshore, fishing the deep bottoms for Red Snapper or Grouper or trolling inshore for King Mackerel, you’ll be in the running for fantastic prizes.
