The world famous Anything that Floats & Bathtub Races will be held at Bamboo Willies this Sunday, September 5 at 2:00 pm. Pensacola Beach sets the perfect stage each year for this suspenseful and fun filled race.

The entry fee for a two person team is $30 and there are plenty of fabulous prizes including special awards for Most Dramatic Sinker, Most Creative and Best Costume.

September 1 - Christabel and the Jons is a Southern swing band with a combination of old jazz, folk, country and rhythm and blues showing their excellent ability to blend familiar sounds of today with vintage originals.

September 8- Biscuit Miller & the Mix includes an amazing bass player (Biscuit) and is known as a high energy band with funk, blues and old style rock’n roll.

September 15 - Bucktown Kickback has headlined concerts through the Midwest and Southeast as well as opened for acts such as Alabama, Junior Brown and Todd Snider. Think of a combination including Americana, Jamgrass and Classic Country.

September 22- Donnie Sundal has a core of R&B, Funk, Soul with a splash of Latin. This trio has the music to get you moving with songs by Bob Marley, Al Green and Steve Wonder.

September 29- Dread Clampitt has become one of the most sought after bands in the South. Their mixture of bluegrass, funk and jazz mixes well with their laid back look yet highly technical and sometimes fast paced music.

The FREE “Back to the Beach” concert with Grammy winner Vince Gill will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2010 along the Beaches of South Walton.

The “Back to the Beach” Concert is now out of the free public tickets, but there are still tickets available for guests of Southern Resorts staying in the Beaches of South Walton. There is a limit of 10 tickets per person.

For generations, the emerald water and white sand along the Beaches of Northwest Florida have inspired musicians and songwriters. To celebrate the strong musical traditions along our coast, the Panama City Beach Songwriter’s Festival will be held September 9 - 11, 2010.

Over 20 top artists will take the stage through this amazing weekend and offer a fantastic show for tourists and locals. Boatyard Restaurant, Schooners, Breakers on the Beach and The Cantina will set the stage for these concerts each evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm. . There will be late night concerts at Firefly beginning at 10:00 pm.

On Saturday night, there will be a special jam session at Aaron Bessant Park. Everyone is encouraged to bring your chairs and favorite blankets so you can relax and enjoy the show.

On September 5, 2010 rock out in Port St. Joe at the POJO Live Music Fest with headliners  Heidi Newfield and KingBilly. This two-date live event will take place at Sand Hill Park.

Relax in the shade as you experience over 10 bands from different genres including Rock, Country, Alternative, Folk, Pop and Classical.  There will be so much to enjoy at this waterfront Festival.

The second event will be held on Saturday, September 25th. Make your plans to visit the Forgotten Coast and have a fantastic Labor Day weekend along the Beaches of Northwest Florida.

The Fort Walton Beach Medical Center will present the Armed Forces Appreciation Day at the “Bull Rigdon” Fort Walton Beach Fairgrounds from 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday, August 28, 2010. American Idol performers Taylor Hicks and Kimberly Locke headline the show as we pay tribute to the men and women protecting our great nation.

You can purchase tickets for just $5 in advance at the Fort Walton Beach Chamber, Fort Walton Beach Medical Center (Please see Vicki Story in Administration) or any of the branches of Eglin Federal Credit Union.

Tickets will be $10 at the door. Military and their families receive complimentary admission.

The annual Run for the Red, White and Blue 5K, held by the American Red Cross, will take place on August 28, 2010 at the Fort Walton Beach Landing. Whether you’re on vacation or a local resident, this annual event helps to save lives every year. Plus, it’s a great reason to exercise and enjoy the awesome Florida weather.

The concerts will be held on Panama City Beach along the pier and shuttle service will be available taking people to Pier Park. You will then be able to walk over to the City Pier.
