Four Bedroom Destin, Florida Vacation Condo ~ Mainsail #257

Overall, skeptical about the facility and the accomodation. I feel the photo's did not help my decision to rent. Although the photo's are accurate, it is hard to know what you are really getting IMO. To begin, I was not sure of the location of the room. Initially, I was told that the room was on the end of the building, facing the ocean. It was not, and the pictures helped show that somewhat. However, the ocean view was not bad. This room has 2 balcony's facing the ocean and inner area of Mainsail. The room numbers do not make any sense until it is explained to you. So here goes an explaination of why room # is 257... There are actually 4 buildings in the main part of the high-rise portion of Mainsail. The 2 buildings facing the ocean are bldgs 1&2 (we were in building 2); We were on the 5th floor; We were the 7th room from the ocean...therefore, room 257! #257 has 4 bedrooms and a long and winding hallway that ends by the launry room and a 2nd door that exits out on the open hallway to other rooms. The entrance to 257 is next to the elevator. For the most part the room was clean and well stocked in the kitchen. Even had a roasting pan to cook a rib roast for Easter. Would have liked to have the housekeeping folks clean the inside oand outside balcony windows. They were thick with crud. The facility is maybe a bit aged, but our accomodation was well kept up and modernized. The baclony doors and screens looked a little ragged and the wall by one of the bedroom balconies was deteriorated and was already marked for repair on the wall. The only thing else that needs replaced is the Tv's. They are old tube Tv's and poor quality. The main room TV died. They replaced next evening, but could not play the blu ray that was there. Guard did not have arrival info from South. Rentals... but we worked it out. Could use floor plan and more pix on website. Having teenagers, they like Xspace of sleeping on Xcouches. Pool has 10pm close time. Too early!
