Island Sands 307 ~ Fort Walton Beach Vacation Condo

The carpet could use a good steam clean and the tiles are very slick when wet. Overall great.

Island Sands was a wonderful experience for me and my husband on our honeymoon! We came to Fort Walton Beach for five days and really enjoyed our stay. #307 was very homey - the kitchen was clean, the couches comfortable, the bedroom cozy - everything a vacation home should have. Additionally, #307 had a lovely Gulf-side view. It was very close to the beach, which was very convenient! It was on the top floor, and so we enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony smelling the sea air. We also did laundry once, and used the dishwasher a couple of times. Everything was perfect! I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 4 days/3 nights. A great value and wonderful beach balcony. Check-in was a breeze since I was e-mailed a code for the door. The whole family had a wonderful time. We will definitely stay here again.

Location was outstanding, beach was beautiful, and the accomodations were just what we were looking for! Did not want the mega condos. Only negative was the king size bed needs to be replaced. Very uncomfortable!

The view from the living room was amazing. The condo was very comfortable.

Property was advertised as pet free, yet a least 2 small dogs were in the property. Parking lot was a real problem. Large indentation in center were drain was located. Holes by the storm drain could be trip hazard or cause tire damage when driving.

one thing that made it such a great value was the Okaloosa County $200 gift card incentive. clean unit, fantastic location, good value. however, I fixed the broken bed frame mentioned in other reviews; there is no table to sit and eat at - you use the high kitchen counter and stools; internet was a bit flaky; furnishings nice but quite simple - nothing extravagent here. did I say: location was great! we had great views, pleasant weather, long stretches of awesome, uncrowded beach. we really enjoyed our week and would do it again (esp. w deeper discounts or "cash" equiv. incentives!).

What a great value! Quaint condo directly on the beach was perfect for my husband and I on our anniversary. It was perfect timing as well with the $200 visa card offer no strings attached to that it was a great bonus! Check in & out was so seamless and easy! Location was great close by great restaurants night clubs and shopping and room had a unobstructed view of the beach. The room was clean there was no problems there. Our only complaints with our stay was the bed was so uncomfortable the mattress sunk in the middle and gave us back pains the first night. So we resorted to sleeping in the living room on the 2nd! There are no elevators in this unit and it is on the 3rd floor, but it really wasn't too bad taking the stairs. The pool was nice but would of liked it to be near the beach not in the parking lot. Oh and the dryer in the unit did not dry the clothes all the way. Bring your own beach towels and chairs unless you want to pay $15.00 daily for the beach chairs from the beach service because it is not included. Other than those minor things I have to say it was a great romantic beach getaway that we will remember!

The condo we stayed in was very nice. Although the bed needs a new mattress and the place could use a little modernizing, our overall experience was good. The weekend we were there the weather only allowed us one good day on the beach and because we were right on the beach we got to see a cool lightning storm without being out in it. The only downside if things is there is no elevator(and being on the 3rd floor with torn ligaments in my knee hurt a little), the only utencil they didn't have in the kitchen was a pizza cutter and a chef knife, and the remote didn't work in the bedroom for the DVD player. All of these things are very minor and therefore didn't hamper our great experience. We would visit this location again. The people who answer the phones and make reservations are very helpful and patient.

Reservation and prearrival information was seamless -- the keyless entry was super; not having to pick up a key and carry it with you to the beach was great. The condo was very clean, well-appointed and provided a fabulous view of the Gulf. It's so nice that you may not want to leave to go anywhere else -- so make sure to stock up on groceries on your way there (Publix right at the bridge from Ft. Walton Beach!). The full fridge with freezer, toaster, microwave, stove, coffeemaker make it easy to stay in for a week. Perfect place to just get away from it all. Walks on the pristine beach also highly recommended! If you want to go out, Destin is a short drive away and has many restaurants and chain stores such as Target, Walmart, Walgreens for any items you may have forgotten (beach chairs...). We will definitely return!

The employees of Southern Resorts were wonderful and very helpful. Make sure you read all of the information you receive after you check in. Especially if you check in late. This condo is directly on the beach with a beautiful view. You have to walk up the three flights of stairs but it is worth it in order to see over the dunes. The condo is very comfortable and was perfect for my husband and myself. The mattresses on both beds were a bit worn and parking is a bit tight if you have a large vehicle but other than that it is great. We will stay there again next year.

This was the first time staying in the area or using Southern Resorts. We loved the ease of checking in and out and the staff was most helpful on the phone. We didn't notify SRVR, about the dryer, because we didn't use it till late Friday night and we checked out Sat. am.. I assumed it was fixed after reading other reviews.It was noisy and didn't dry very well.We only stayed three nights, but really liked the small complex.The stairs were a little too much exercise.There were a few small things that could use some maintenence, but all in all, delivered as promised.We also loved the ease of using SRVR's web site.

We stayed in a one bedroom condo w/ kitchen at Island Sands #307, Fort Walton. It was every bit as nice as described. We were right on the beach with a balcony that looked out on the water. In fact, I got some nice video of some dolphins playing off of our balcony. What I liked best was that it was a very nice condo right on the beach. What I liked least was having to leave. Southern Resorts Vacation Rentals was great dealing with. I had wanted to add a couple of days to my stay and they were happy to help me do that. The condo was very nice and clean. I always go to Okaloosa Island for my vacation I love the privacy of the island and the fact that you are able to be in Destin in 5 min. I like the location of the condo it is located by several different resturants.

This was a picture perfect place for me, my husband and daughter to stay. I loved the view and easy access to the beach. We spent the majority of our time on the beach, at the pool or on the balcony. I didn't want to leave to go anywhere else. The only "issue" we had during our stay was the clothes dryer did not work properly. Upon my return home I notified Southern Resorts and feel confident that this has been corrected.

We had a wonderful time, great accomadations, will be back in the future.

Island Sands #307 was lovely! The view was amazing! I have a really good friend that lives in the area and even she was impressed! My finance and my son complained on how small the TV's were but really we were NOT there to watch TV. I had no problem with it. The dryer didn't work all that well, it actually took two full cycles to dry a load of towels but I didn't let that get me down either. I'm already thinking about coming down next year too!

Checking in and out was a breeze. The only drawbacks we experienced was the dryer took forever to dry our laundry and a cabinet in the kitchen was broken and carefully set back in place so when we opened it, it fell to pieces. The place is spacious, cold a/c, beautiful view of the beach, plenty of dishes and quiet. Plenty of towels provided. Parking was okay, but if you have a large vehicle, it's difficult to get out. Overall, we'd stay again.

The Island Sands is a great place to stay.We really enjoyed the convenience of the beach ,pool was never over crowded.The views from rm #307 was spectacular an very clean.This is the place that we have chosen to take our vacation every year.It was a great vacation ,very relaxing an peaceful .

We stayed in the same complex last year but the same unit wasn't available so we stayed in unit #307. We were pleased with everything from start to finish other than the dryer never worked from day one. I called the management each of the first five days and finally the day before we left we were able to mostly dry our towels and clothes. Whatever, the communication problems were sure put a damper on what was otherwise a good vacation.

This was probably the best rental experience we've had in 13 years of vacationing along the Gulf Coast. The ease of check-in and check-out was outstanding! It is so nice to not have to worry about standing in line to wait for a key before you can enter a property. This unit was tastefully decorated and was perfect for our family of four. Island Sands is a wonderful complex to stay in as it is smaller than most in the area. It's quiet and very family friendly. We often had the pool to ourselves. The unit was very clean, with the exception of the shower curtain. However, we bought a little bleach spray that took care of that. The coffee maker is broken in the unit. It works, but has a bad leak at the drip and should probably be replaced. My husband used it anyway, just put paper towels under it to prevent the mess. The dryer probably needs to be professionally cleaned. A small load of laundry took three full cycles to dry, but we suspect lint removal might fix this issue. The issues we encountered were minor. Overall, the fact that it was so easy to access the property, the beautiful view, the quietness of the complex, and the fact that most everything was sparkling clean, made our trip very worth while!

We really loved the condo and the beach side view. The condo could however use some more drinking glasses, I had to wash dishes about every day. I didn't like that!
