Captains Quarters ~ Miramar Beach Vacation Home Rental

My family spent a week in this house for the second time for our family vacation. We love the Cottage Retreat complex and enjoy the space we have in the house. It is close to the pool, which is great with little children, and the privacy in the back allowed to let the children play on the sidewalks and street in the evenings. Our main complaint is cleanliness. We stayed in this house 3 years ago and the carpet and area rugs were very dirty and they were the same and looked like they had not been cleaned since then. Living room furniture is also looking very worn and dirty. Otherwise, we like the space, it is quiet from floor to floor which is nice with multiple babies and toddlers.

Overall, everything was very nice. There was dust about an inch thick on the window treatments but who looks at that? I do. The parking was terrible because there were more than 2 vehicles in our group, but everything else was cool.

Southern Vacation Rentals provided top notch service throughout my entire stay. The Captains Quarters was a superb find. We stayed with a group of 12 friends for three nights in mid-May. The house was very clean, very comfortable, and best of all it was in a perfect location. We were about 20 yards from the gate to the pool, we were about 100 yards from the beach, and were within a two minute drive to a CVS store to pick up those things you invariably forget. I don't want to rave to much, because I would rather not have competition when I try to book it for my next trip! This was a property that you simply didn't want to leave. For those who are lucky enough to book a stay here, I know you will enjoy it as much as we did.

Loved the Captains Quarters, comfortable for all. Teenagers liked having the 3rd floor, Grandma and Grandpa appreciated having the comfortable master suite. Son and daughter-in-law enjoyed their privacy. The kitchen we found well equipped. The only negative thing we found was the sleeper couches mattresses are in need of replacing, we had thought ahead and had an air mattress with us just in case. We will be back loved the beaches and the beautiful pool.

Great house that accomodate any number of people. Only draw back was the two car minimum but even then there was extra parking about a minute walk from the hoouse.

We loved our vacation there and would definitely come stay again. The walk to the beach was short (even w/ kids, we have a 4 and 7 yr old) and the pool is right in the backyard which the kids loved. The house was so nice, very clean, no complaints.

Excellent home, excellent service. Thanks for getting us in early on Saturday. And we're really sorry about the stained carpet. The service from your staff was above and beyond nice, friendly, and caring.

The house was fantastic! We visited for our parents' 40th wedding anniversary. The 3rd floor living room worked out well when we needed time away from one another. There were 6 adults staying in the house and the 4 bedrooms and 4 baths was perfect for our needs. It was fantastic to be so close to the beach and the heated pool was a God-send since it was not really warm enough to swim in the ocean. Wonderful house and great community!

My January 2009 stay was my second visit to the property. This is a beautifully decorated and convenient home. The beach is easily accessible as well as shopping and a variety of restaurants. I plan on coming back to visit again before the year is out. See you this summer/fall!!

My family and I visit Destin quite often and have stayed in many different accommodations. This by far is one of the best. The location was perfect....very short walk to the beach with private beach access and short drive to shopping and dining. The kids had a blast (as did the adults). The house was extremely nice as was the neighborhood, especially the patio and balconies. And of course, I have always been pleased with the service offered by Southern Resorts. This proporty comes highly recommended.

6 adults and 3 children shared this beautiful home for a week in September 2008. It accomodated all of us wonderfully. It was a close walk to the beach and pool. The house was clean, well decorated and very comfortable to call home for a week.

This is the second year we have stayed at Captain's Quarters. My family, including the children and grand children love the area. The small ones enjoy the pool and the beach and we all like to relax, fish and play golf. It is located in a good area of Destin. We would rent this property when we come to Destin.

Our large family actually consists of 5 little ones. We have for a few years made it a practice to rent one these homes and spend quality time together. We love every minute of our stay. The home is equipped with everything you have in your home except for food.(which we stop and get on the way) We take turns cooking. We enjoy being close to the beach. We have family game night.(games are here too!) We grill, walk, swim and even spend time shopping and visiting local shops like "the gossip parlor". We began this ritual so that we could stay connected and maintain the closeness that we enjoy as a family. With so many responsibilities we have in taking care of our individual families, it's easy to neglect the importance of "being" a family. Thank you, Southern Resorts for helping us "stay together".

The house was so nice. It was the perfect set up for our family. We didn't want to leave. It was close enough to the beach to walk and head back to the house for lunch instead of packing everything with us. But it was far enough away that the kids couldn't just wander off to the water without us. I also liked the security gate. The problem we had when we first arrived was the wrong code to get in. That was frustrating,and the house was hard to locate. Also there wasn't enough parking but they did help us out with that we just had to walk a little ways to get the car. I can't wait to go back and I would love to stay in the same house.
