State of City Address for Destin,Florida

The State of City Address will be held this evening at 6 p.m. in the Destin City Hall Annex.
Destin residents are invited to listen to Mayor Craig Barker present the 2007 State of the City Address, “Our Destiny, Your Destin.” Video will be used to showcase various Destin locations.
The Annex is located at 4100 Two Trees Rd. in Destin.

I visited the Happy Hours home today, it certainly lives up to its name.
This bright happy home is just a "stones throw" from the beach without having to cross any streets. The sparkling water that I saw from the living room was enticing me to me to visit the beach! Virtual tours of the home will be up soon so you may view the inside.

FLORIDA LIVING HISTORY DAYS

This historic March event celebrates the signing of the Florida Constitution in Port St. Joe, Florida. Join folks from all over at the Florida State Constitution Convention Park and travel back in time. There will be museum tours, reenactments and demonstrations of trades such as churning butter, making turpentine, tabby making, soap making, rendering lard and much more about Florida History. Tonight is the latest installment of “Radio Live” at the Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin, Florida. Tonight’s guests are Beth Wood, Buddy Mondlock & Bill Sheffield.
The event is held at the outdoor stage at 6pm, in case of drizzles head over to the Funky Blues Shack at Baytowne Wharf. It's sure to be a great mid-week treat.
Admission as usual is a donation of one or more non-perishable food items to go to Caring & Sharing of South Walton.

New Trolley Cars

New trolley vehicles are under construction to replace older buses on Route 20 that run from Uptown Station, through downtown Fort Walton Beach, over Brooks Bridge and down Santa Rosa Blvd on Okaloosa Island. These trolley cars are nice additions to a transportation system assisting local residents and visitors in Fort Walton Beach and Destin vacation rentals.

Build a Bear & support hurricane victims

Build-A-Bear Workshop in Destin,Florida is launching a charitable initiative at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 at the store in the Destin Commons. The first 100 people can make a bear for free & it will then be donated to the Red Cross to distribute to those affected by the recent hurricanes in Central Florida. You may also purchase special purple satin hearts throughout February and the proceeds will go to the Red Cross as well.. What a great way to brighten a child's day that might have lost their favorite stuffed animal.

Mardi Gras on Okaloosa Island

Come kick off Mardi Gras season on Okaloosa Island in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. Over 70 floats will parade down Santa Rosa Blvd at 12 noon. A street festival will follow the parade with ongoing events at participating restaurants along the parade route.
