Destin Fesitval of the ArtsThe 14th Annual Destin Festival of the Arts will be held this weekend, October 24th & 25th, at Henderson Beach State Park.  Over 100 artists from across the nation will join together for this fun filled festival.  Performers will be among you as well as a bistro food court, continuous entertainment, and festival merchandise for sale. 

Experience a true depth of different artwork including acrylic, glass, clay, collage, jewelry, metals, oil, ink, photography, digital imagery, pastel, sculpture, pottery, watercolor, fiber, textile and wood. 

Festival hours are…

  • Saturday October 24 9:00am – 5:00pm
  • Sunday October 25 10:00am-5:00pm

Adults are expected to make a $3 donation and children under 12 are free. Parking is available across the street from Henderson Beach State Park at Beall’s.  Air conditioned motor coaches will transport you to the front entrance of the festival.

Baytowne Wharf Beer FestThe 2009 Baytowne Wharf Beerfest is officially kicking off  this weekend.  In honor of the German celebration of Oktoberfest, American specialty beers from across our great nation will be celebrated.  Over 100 international and domestic beers will be available for sampling with representatives encouraging you to learn about the different types. 

Throughout Friday and Saturday there will be beer seminars, beer tours, beer wars, craft beer tasting, and more.  There will also be live music on Saturday from 2-7pm.   The advance ticket price is $20 through October 16th then it will raise to $25 per ticket.  Whether you’re staying in Destin, 30A, Beaches of South Walton, Panama City, Fort Walton Beach, or Niceville, you are sure to have a wonderful time at the Baytowne Wharf Beerfest.

Destin Seafood FestivalThe very popular Destin Seafood Festival will return to its water-front location at HarborWalk Village in Destin with headliners Joan Jett and Survivor!

The annual three-day festival offers visitors a great taste of fresh Florida seafood, an array of arts and crafts, and live musical acts including nationally known headliners and local artists as well.

Art & Wine Weekend in Pensacola Beach

Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival 2009

The 33rd Annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival is a food, music, arts and crafts celebration featuring live performances by Blake Shelton, Chuck Wicks,  & Billy Ray Cyrus.  The festival is located in Niceville which is a 20 minute trip from Destin via the Mid-Bay Bridge and a 20 minute drive from Fort Walton Beach.  Come out to this old fashioned festival to have a great time sampling different concessions and listen to fantastic country music.

Destin Fishing Rodeo

Come to Destin and join the Destin Fishing Rodeo, the ultimate fishing tournament for all anglers.  Over 30,000 fishermen will compete throughout the month of October for over $100,000 in prizes that range from trophies, merhcandise, and bonds.  Almost every gamefish is recognized with awards during the Rodeo and you’ll be in the running for daily, weekly, and overall prizes in men’s, women’s, and junior anglers’ categories. 

The event is free to anglers fishing from boats registered with the Rodeo.  It lasts the entire month of October and is hosted by AJ’s.  So, whether you want to fish, compete, or just enjoy the sights and sounds come on down to the Destin FIshing Rodeo in Destin, Florida.

Destin Festival of the Arts

There is always an amazing showing of artwork at the Destin Festival of the Arts.  But there will be much more than merely art appreciation.  The 14th annual Destin Festival of the Arts at Henderson Beach State Park will also feature continuous entertainment, strolling performers, a bistro food court,  and children’s hands-on art activities.  The festival will take place October 24th, 9am-5pm; October 25th 10am-5pm Check here for more details.

Beginnning Friday, March 6, 2009, Friday Festival in Downtown Panama City will be held on the first Friday of each month, beginning in March and continuing through November.  The 200-600 blocks of Harrison are closed for a tremendous block party with good food, beverages (beer included), bands, crafts, games for the children and the shops and restaurants stay open later for everyone.
