The 2009 Destin Fishing Rodeo will be kicking off on October 1st and will last through the entire month.  Originally established in 1948, the rodeo has now grown to include over 30,000 anglers competing for the best catches while proving once again why Destin is the world’s luckiest fishing village.  Weigh-ins will be held at AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar everyday from 10:00am to 7:00pm.  The rodeo is free to anglers on boats registered in the rodeo and for pier, bridge, jetty, or surf fishing.  Over $100,000 worth of cash and prizes will be awarded for various categories with virtually every game fish being recognized.  The rodeo is open to private and charter boats.
