The Green Leadership Committee of the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce is coordinating local participation in the 24th Annual Ocean Conservancy International Coastal Clean-Up on Saturday September 19th, 2009.  The world’s largest volunteer effort of its kind, participants in Panama City will be joining over 400,000 volunteers across 42 states and 104 countries.  Businesses, civic organizations, and the general community are all encourage to join the cause.

There are two different clean-ups scheduled for the day.  The first is at Rick Seltzer Park on South Thomas Drive from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.  The second is at the Russell Fields City Pier at Pier Park from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.   Remember, bottled water, gloves, and trash bins will be provided.

For more information contact Marta@PCBeach.org or call 850-235-1159.  Locals and visitors from surrounding areas like Port St. Joe, Mexico Beach, Rosemary Beach, Seacrest, Seagrove & Destin traditionally get involved with this clean-up.  There are many great ways to give back to the Gulf Coast communities we love so much and this is definitely one of the best.
