Get away this weekend to Northwest Florida and have fun at a unique Gulf Coast event staged to help raise money for two locals fighting cancer, Holly Burke and Jason Thompson.

If you have been to our incredible region of Florida in the last year, you must have seen the stand up paddle boarders in the Gulf waters or coastal dune lakes along the beach. It is a relatively new sport to the area, but the number of participants is growing. On any given morning, they can be seen paddling parallel with the coast or gently riding the waves into shore.

The biggest brand – YOLO – is locally owned and is sponsoring this event in conjunction with Seaside. This event on Saturday, September 19th, features stand up paddle-board races for adults and children, ages eight and above beginning at 8am and running until 1pm in the Gulf of Mexico.  Look for great prizes for participants and plenty of opportunities to win silent auction items throughout the day. Enjoy live music by HERITAGE from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the Seaside Amphitheatre, ending what is sure to be a beautiful day with “a laid back vibe the whole family can enjoy.”

If you are a local, take some time to enjoy the beauty of our area in this unique fashion, while helping Holly and Jason. If you are a visitor, find your place at the beach with Southern Resorts Vacation Rentals. With properties near Seaside from $56 per night, we can make it worth your trip!
