Alexa Guarachi, a senior at South Walton High School, signed official documents to play tennis for the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa beginning in the fall 2009.  She signed the official documents during a ceremony in the library at South Walton High School at 10am this morning, surrounded by family and friends.  Alexa was born and raised in Destin, but has traveled the world playing tennis and is currently ranked 142 in the world in the Girls 18s division with her highest ranking being at 81.  Her father, Fernando Guarachi, has been her coach and mentor since her first tennis tournament at the age of 7.   Alexa has a bright future ahead at the University of Alabama, following in the footsteps of her father, who also played for the college.
