October 1, 2008 marked the commencement of the 60th Annual Fishing Rodeo in Destin, Florida. Established in 1948, the Destin Fishing Rodeo is the ultimate fishing tournament for saltwater anglers of all ages. Open every day from October 1 through October 31, 2008, the rodeo is free to anglers fishing aboard a registered event boat, whether private or chartered. They also offer free entry for pier, bridge, jetty and surf fishing. Throughout the month of October, over $100,000 will be awarded in cash and prizes.  Weigh-ins will take place every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at A.J.’s Seafood & Oyster Bar.
